Jered Weaver Goes for AL record tonight!

Jered Weaver can become the first American League rookie to win his first 10 career decisions tonight when the LA Angels of Anaheim host the Boston Red Sox in the finale of a three-game series at Angel Stadium. Weaver, 23, equaled the 56-year-old mark of former New York Yankees great Whitey Ford in his last start, when he defeated the Seattle Mariners 3-0 for his ninth straight victory. In that win, the former first-round draft pick allowed three hits and struck out seven batters in seven innings. He's held opposing batters to just a .191 average through his first 78 1/3 innings of work this season, while striking out 65 and walking only 20.

ArmchairGM.Com Preseason Poll

Here you will find the first preseason NCAA football from ArmchairGM.com writers. Enjoy the results. Comment if you dare.

Ohio State received 12 first place votes to sit atop the inaugural ArmchairGM User Top 25 College Football Poll. The Buckeyes garnered 526 total points to beat out Notre Dame, who got 501 points to place second.

West Virginia got the nod for third place by one point over fourth-place Texas despite receiving only one first place vote to the Longhorns' three. Auburn rounded out the top five.

News of Rhett Bomar's suspension must've swayed the minds of the voters as Oklahoma, a team that many thought could contend for a national championship, placed 10th in the poll.

Louisville managed to get one first place vote, but the Cardinals didn't receive much other attention as they were placed 13th.

Here is how the AGM Poll stacks up against the USA Today Coaches' Poll:
